Born in 1949 in Barisal, Kabir is a very famous and eminent artist in Bangladesh. After his graduation from Govt. College of Art & Crafts (presently Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka), he joined the same institute as a teacher. Though he was a popular teacher, after some years, he moved to Madrid, Spain and settled down as an independent artist. He now resides both in Bangladesh and Spain. Kabir has held around twelve solo exhibitions at different parts of the globe like Dhaka, Madrid and Middleburg, Holland. He participated in many important group exhibitions locally and abroad. He received a national award from Bangladesh and the prestigious “Carmen Arozamena” award from Spain.

His works are collected by National Art Gallery, Bangladesh, National Museum of Bangladesh, Museum of Contemporary Art, Spain, Museum of Contemporary Art, Norway, National Public Library, Spain, and several other private collections at home and abroad.
