Neerja Chandna Peters

Neerja Chandna Peters is a distinguished artist who transitioned from a career in Family Medicine to embrace her passion for art full-time. After taking premature retirement from her role as a physician, she discovered her unique artistic voice in spiritual expression through abstract geometry. Her work, deeply rooted in the pursuit of the Divine, serves as a medium to explore the metaphysical and connect with a higher spiritual plane.

Neerja’s works have gained international recognition and acclaim, most notably winning third prize at the First International Biennale by the International Association of Visual, Lithuania, in 2021. Her artistic journey has been marked by numerous accolades, including the Critics Choice Award, Artist of the Year Award, and the Wallace Hartley World Art Day Award from the World University of Design, Bharat Nirman, and the International Association of Art (official partners of UNESCO), respectively. She has showcased her works in a solo exhibition at the Art Reach Gallery in Portland, USA, and her art has been featured in a diverse array of exhibitions, biennales, and projects across Romania, USA, Brazil, Argentina, South Korea, Italy, Mexico, UK, Germany, Spain, India, Russia, Bangladesh, and the United States.

Neerja’s profound engagement with abstract geometry reflects her belief that this form of expression possesses an innate capacity to communicate spiritual ideas and connect the viewer to a sense of the Divine. She finds the process of creating art through geometry and color to be both meditative and liberating. Her works explore the delicate balance of symmetry and rhythm through the interplay of lines, colors, and forms, creating a subtle optical movement and a sense of spiritual energy that resonates deeply with her viewers.

Her art has been published in several respected art and literary magazines, including Bluebee Magazine (London), Flora Fiction Literary Magazine (US), Quarantine Zine (New York), Eki Magazine (Italy), Art-hole (UK), The Knack Magazine (US), and Indian Creative Minds Magazine. Neerja’s artistic practice continues to embody her spiritual journey, creating visual and rhythmic poetry that guides the soul on a contemplative journey back to its divine source.
