Salil Sahani is an alumnus of Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan. He is a sculptor, printmaker and painter. He has exhibited his printmaking endeavor in multiple shows, including solo shows at Birla Academy of Fine Arts and Culture, Kolkata, and participated in group shows at Guild Gallery, Mumbai, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th International Print Biennale, Bharat Bhavan and at The Royal Society of Painters and Printmakers, London. He is a recipient of several awards, some of the important ones being President of India’s Silver Plaque, AlFACS Award, National Award, LKA and 22nd and 23rd Birla Academy Awards and British High Commission Award.An enthusiastic participator in workshops and camps, he has been a part of camps, including lithography camps by Tamarind Institute, U.S. in Chennai and Professor Charls Stroh at Visva Bharati University. His works are held in the collection of AlFACS, NGMA, Delhi, Tamarind Institute and several private and public collections in India and abroad.
