BASEMENT IN NORTH TOWER, GUANGZHOU
INDIAN ART EXHIBITION
Group Show
Facilitated by
21st November - 28th November, 2016
The Indian Art Exhibition in Guangzhou, China, was a vibrant celebration of Indian arts, crafts, and lifestyle products. Hosted by the Consulate General of India and Guangzhou Hegenberg Trading Ltd., the event showcased contemporary artworks by young and upcoming Indian artists, including Ankita Singh, Kriti Verma, Lalita Dhiman, Rajneesh Singh, and Vineeta Rupani. The exhibition, titled “Modern India – Colour, Pattern and Life,” was inspired by the Silk Route—a historical trade route that fostered cultural exchange and development. This event aimed to create a similar platform for cultural exchange, bringing together diverse geographies and celebrating India’s rich artistic heritage. The exhibition opened with a grand ceremony and an Indian Mela on November 21, 2016, at the Main Entry Square of Poly Central Plaza. It marked a significant milestone for The Art Route, which drew its inspiration from the Silk Route’s legacy of cultural fusion. The Art Route proudly presented contemporary Indian art, reflecting the vibrant colors and patterns of modern India. The event was co-sponsored by Poly Commercial Real Estate Investment & Management Ltd. and Guangzhou ISANCHAN Culture and Event Planning Ltd., with special thanks to Nicole Chen for her pioneering efforts in bringing this initiative to life. This landmark exhibition provided a platform for cultural dialogue, offering audiences in Guangzhou an opportunity to engage with the essence of Indian creativity and heritage. It was a testament to the shared vision of fostering connections through art, marking the beginning of a journey toward meaningful cultural exchanges.
